This Saturday we head to Fraser Weir ,Clyde end of Earnscleugh. Meet 1:00pm corner Walton & Thompson Streets to car pool out with M-Zs duty pack this week. For those travelling direct ,meet in carpark at base of Clyde lookout on Hawksburn road.
Saturday started like the previous few days , a little fog and that cloud locked in overhead , so we never did get up to those tropical temperatures
Stubbornly staying in singe digit figures. It was a good turnout with around 40 members taking the trip out to Little Valley
18 W1 walkers were the first to jump off the bus, taking in the water races and some tracks on the north side of the road. Chief map maker Joe
Led this group, so no chance of getting lost, unless he chose to lead you astray.
17 W2 walkers were next off the bus ,staying on the bus a bit longer than planned, as pack leader was busy talking instead of checking map.
They had to back track down the road before picking up the water races and on to the woolshed.
The 5 W3 walkers stayed on the bus to set up the Billy and then heading back across to Matangi homestead area for a local wander.
Perhaps a timely reminder to refresh memories when travelling in groups , to check numbers in each group at start and throughout the walk, stopping to regroup from time to time ,to check no one missing.. 2 members dropped off the back of the W2 group , assumptions were made , but no one stopped to check. So 2 walkers ended up walking road to Little Valley ,hampered by a back injury slowing them down.
A visit to the doc suggested back muscles were locked up tight. Stick you fingers in the power plug or we could do some pain killers and muscle relaxants .So drugs it was .Off the drugs today and survived a short walk so hopefully will make it Saturday. Thanks for the messages of support and checking up on me.
This Saturday we head for the Fraser Weir road area ,meet at 1:00pm to car pool out to base of Clyde lookout road. Someone must have really annoyed the weather god as it looks like we could be in for another cloudy week, but I am sure some will climb high enough to see the sun.
No photos of the low cloud last week , can only hope things get better this week.
Hope to see you there .Where ? Weir
