This Saturday we venture out to Flat Top Hill. Meet corner Walton & Thompson Streets at 1:00pm to car pool out with
A-Ls duty pack again. Our Roxburgh regulars might like to stop off at Butchers Dam instead of coming into Alex ,then going back out.
There was a little sunshine on Saturday , but there was an annoying southerly wind blowing at times , a reminder that thermal layers and a wind proof jacket are a wise choice on harrier outings.
There was a big bakers half dozen W1 walkers , who headed on down the Doctors Point track , before looping back up to the top of Graveyard gully.
They then managed to find another track before dropping back down the hill , getting back to the Shaky bridge just in time to catch the W2 walkers
The bakers dozen W2 walkers went on up to Boot Hill and wandered around the tracks up there. Those mountain bikers when they made those tracks, must have been smoking something , because we were sure we were going around in circles. Proven when the walkers at the back of the pack went straight ,and then found themselves at the front of the group. So the lead changed several times ,depending on who took a short cut They dropped back down by the cemetery before returning along the rail trail.
A very select group of W3 walkers had a local walk around Alexandra.
This Saturday is a swap with Klifden Station ,due to bridge closures , so we will be going instead to Flat Top reserve at Butchers Dam
Meet at 1pm to car pool out with A-Ls on duty. Here’s hoping someone installs a gondola this week to make it easier to get up onto Flat Top.
Weather should be ok , but temperatures will be in single digits , so remember those thermal layers.
I have received a request to reduce size of photo attachments.
The reality is most phones have larger photo formats than they used to, typically 5-8Mb as opposed to 2-3 Mb , but some 20MB PLUS.
Also new version of Outlook does not allow you to reduce image size. Old version of Outlook did allow you to reduce image sizes , but you can no longer use the old version due to security issues.
So feed back welcomed as to whether you still wish to receive photos , or whether we should just put them online somewhere , or not bother with them at all.
