Saturday saw a touch of winter , with snow down the mountains and a certain crispness to the air as the harrier group descended on Butchers Dam.
One walker headed on out earlier to Flat Top, to give her dog a chance to play in the snow, As did 2 runners who went a bit further again with a 4 legged friend.

Around 13 W1 walkers headed on up to Flat Top ,finding the icing sugar had been liberally dusted across the Flat Top. No dallying around , back on time to the dam for afternoon tea.

The 15 W2 walkers headed down stream from the dam wall , running into a couple of former club members Sue & John. Then it was time to climb up that generous hill to flat top. Climb up the hill, get to the top ,then find that generous hill gives you some more hill to climb, nearly at the top and more hill.
OK we didn’t get up to the icing sugar level, deciding some purple haze could be a good idea on a crisp day. No holding them back, once they caught sight of the billy boiling below.

A handful of W3 walkers explored some of the lower elevation tracks around Butchers dam.

This Saturday we head for Conroys Dam 1:00pm car pool. For those keen for a longer walk meet at 10am and JT will take you up to Castle Rock, which is a bloody big rock higher up the mountain. With the snow on the hills and frosty conditions expected ,walking boots could be a good idea as it could be a bit damp and slippery underfoot.
Sunshine should be working ok ,just not so sure about the heater.
See you there
