Left Bank, Right Bank and a Trig Station

Hi All
This week we are down at Butchers Dam and Flat Top Hill. Once again for those who’d like a longer walk, the W1s will be carpooling from Alexandra at 12 noon to walk the Purple Haze route (approx 2.5 hours plus sightseeing time) on Flat Top.
Everyone else to meet as usual at 1pm to carpool to Butchers Dam. We are hoping the W1s have learnt from last week where they left 45 minutes early and came back 30 minutes late!

Meet at the corner of Walton, Rivers and Thompson Street at 12 noon (Long/W1 group) or 1pm(everyone else) to carpool out.
Duty pack – A-Ls

Alexa says a high chance of 12 degrees with partly sunny weather!

Last Saturday, one group of W3s made it as far at the Graveyard. 8 W1s left early and climbed to a trip some 500m above sea level. This walk kept up the W1s reputation of being late back for afternoon tea. It was overheard that the downhill was very steep!
10 W2s did a down and back along the Doctors Point track, and the second W3 group did a down and back along the Lake Roxburgh track.

The weather was a complete contrast to the previous week with our first spring walk for the season! There was plenty of vitamin D available which seemed to brighten everyone up!

Its getting closer to the end of the harrier season – only 7 walks left to go!!

Remember if you know what you are doing next year, book in your interest for the Matariki trip to Stewart Island with Michael.

See you all on Saturday!
Gary
