Roxburgh Dam, Born 1956 and Still Going Strong

Don’t believe everything you read this week! Since I wasn’t there I have to make it all up!

Our Roxburgh members turned on some blue sky and sunshine for us last Saturday! There were about 30-odd on the bus from Alex meeting up with a couple of the Roxburgh locals.

The bus dropped off a large group of W1s at the start of the Roxburgh Gorge track who went up and back and across the dam, getting back in time for afternoon tea!! I can see at least 3 of them made it to Elbow Creek from the photo sent in!

The bus then crossed over the dam parked up below it in the sunshine. Barbara led at least 10 W2s up Commissioners Track to a lookout over Roxburgh Dam (based on the photo below) and they reportedly arrived back at the bus early!

Jojo led 4 W3s downstream along the Clutha Gold trail but there was no photographic evidence provided!

You’d think that everyone knows by now, but remember that if you are in the duty pack, please help setting up the tables and getting the billy out, set up, filled with water and lit, before heading out for your walk! And likewise at the end of the walk, help with filling the teapots, cups and then packing everything away in the trailer or bus before leaving. Thanks. Many hands make light work!

This Saturday is another bus trip – this time to Shennans Track in the Ida Valley with an early start leaving at noon.
Meet – Corner of Rivers, Walton and Thompson Streets before noon – the bus will leave sharply at midday! Remember to have an early lunch!!
Duty Pack – M-Zs

Lets see if we can get the sunshine to hang out for a few more days!!

Hope to see you there on Saturday!
