A smaller turnout with only 23 arriving to walk up to the weir on a rather grey and chilly day. Could turn it was cool by all the white frost in the shady areas!
John led the 11 W1s up Fraser Weir road and across the hills somewhere! Barrie led the 10 W2s up the Fraser Weir Road to the Coffee Pot – a pressure release structure on the pipeline taking the water to the Fraser Power Station below. Jojo and Gary waited behind for Joe to arrive with liquid water for the billy as the water in the trailer was too solid to get into the billy!

This Saturday we are off to Roxburgh Dam in the bus. Please note there is a later start than advertised in the Club Programme – we are now leaving Alexandra at 12:30
Start time: Meet at 12:30 at the corner of River, Thomson and Walton Streets. Will be parking at the toilets in Roxburgh Village.

The weather gods have no idea what the weather will be doing on Saturday – maybe a chance of clouds or sunshine or both if we are lucky!

Thanks to Chris for her report on the Matariki Weekend tramp:
On Friday morning 7 harriers set off on their 4 day adventure. Unfortunately we had a couple of withdrawals due to illness and as one was our leader Mike, Tim became our leader. So off we marched with full packs plus 2 kg of coal each only to find 20kg available at mid Caples hut!!
Fortunately we had a sunny day to go over the saddle which was very scenic with snow ice and hoar frost. McKellar hut was very cold with no coal so our coal came in handy there thank goodness!! No one wanted to carry it any further!
Another long day to Mid Greenstone where we finally broke out into the sun with frozen tussocks to wade through and coal in the hut! Our last day although shorter was wet all the way so the shelter was a welcome site where we all donned dry clothes.
Coffee and food at Mrs Woolies in Glenorchy capped off a great weekend. A diverse group of people who all fitted in well together. Thank you to all of you for making this trip such a success.
