Hi All
We are getting towards the end of June and changing our email distribution list to financial members only in accordance with the new constitution. After a request received at our last committee meeting, the committee decided to offer former members the opportunity to go on a newsletter-only distribution list; you need to opt in for this by emailing Jill (scottweekly@gmail.com) before the end of June.
Another week has gone! Last Saturday saw us wandering up Omeo Gully. The 2 W3’s kept to the valley floor to Fraser Dam road and along it for a bit keeping their feet dry. I’m not sure how everyone else also kept dry feet as normally there is a creek to cross – was the president ferrying passengers across the creek in training for a heavy pack on the weekend away soon?
21 W1s walked up and up, along and down and down to be back in plenty of time for afternoon tea. They were making it very clear to me that they were not late back this week – is this because they are late back every other week?
On the other hand the 11 W2s were saying they were never normally back late and happy to find a little bit of afternoon tea left for them and a nice hot billy! They walked up and along the irrigation race, before heading towards an empty dam, some old stone walls and then up a hill before dropping down into a steep gully with a muddy bottom – luckily one of the walkers helped everyone else across so I believe no wet muddy feet here either.
Reminders for this week are
- Please pay subs/fill in membership forms asap if not already done
- Please pay for the club dinner if you are attending – no payment no food. If you have to cancel, please let Barrie know ASAP.
- If you have registered for Mike’s tramp – keep an eye out for his email and if you don’t receive it contact him.
This Saturday we are taking off from Alexandra Airport for a quick jaunt around the tracks up there. As long as we stay away from the runway we should be right!
Saturday 20 June – 1pm – meet at the normal place to carpool to the airport.
Duty Pack – A-Ls
Alexa has told me that there is the chance of a shower on Saturday but temperatures in double figures! So guessing no fog for us!
That’s all for now! The brain has gone into sleep mode!
