Last Saturday We had our mystery trip.as we got into cars we were given a page of instructions and clues to collect along the way It did not say drive to Ranfurly. Different cars got different instructions so there was no follow the car ahead of us
It said head north for 15km . Park in the car park on the right We then had to find some info on the Postmistress from the Post Office Hut. Well we all knew the Chatto Creek pub( good start ) but did not know about the PostOffice hut. Later we had to find info about the Drybread pub and cemetry We had to get a photo of the Moon Tree at Ophir( some of the locals knew nothing of it We had to find the Multitasker at the Lauder Railway Station, count the birds on the roof at NIWA research station. Eventually ending up at St Bathans. One group sent in a photo of Matakanui { no one was supposed to end up there } Everyone seemed to enjoy the day but it was a long day by the time we got home Thanks to those who organed the event
