This Saturday falls in the middle of Easter , so there will be no official outing. However , there will be an unofficial outing .
So if you are around with nothing to do , meet up corner Walton & Thompson streets at 1:00pm and we will head out on a local outing.
Depending on how many turn up , it may just be one group. There will be no afternoon tea or raffle, but Barrie is keen to lead a group on to the
Ida Kitchen & Bar (formerly Monteiths ) as opposed to up the garden path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This past Saturday we again had around 40 members turn up for a walk in the Poolburn Gorge area.
We set off from the bus in 3 groups heading over to the rail trail and the viaduct. They then wandered along the rail trail through the tunnels.
Just who was in which group became total guess work , as the groups were all mixed together, the W3s ahead of the W1s at one stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The W3s had enough sense to turn around back along the trail and back over to the bus. The W1s and W2s headed on up the ridge line , finally getting back into 2 groups of 16 and 17 walkers as they headed back to the bus. A group of old goats could be seen along the top of the ridge , milling around. Both 2 legged as well as 4 legged.
The W3s were back on time for afternoon tea , whilst the other groups were back early. Naughty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Couple of reminders , if you open a gate, you are responsible for closing it. Do not rely on someone further back in the group closing it.
Also , try to keep your group together. If you are way out in front , stop and wait , or do a loop to get the group you are in, together again.
Keep some awareness of where you are and the rest of your group. Taking off ahead of your group can lead to people getting lost , so depending on who they are , this could be a bad \/ good thing !<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is no official walk this Saturday ,despite what the programme says. However , there will be an unofficial walk. So if the walking shoes feel like an outing ,head on down to Centennial Park for a local walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ANZAC weekend will see a walk in the Lower Manorburn Dam area , check for details in next week’s email. Reminder to the committee ,meeting this Wednesday , so anything we think you need to know ,will advise next email<\/p>\n\n\n\n
