We wont be getting much this Saturday either as we will be heading through the tunnels on the rail trail from the Ida Valley side – bring your torch to light your way!

Its another early start, leaving 12 noon from the normal place in the bus. Afternoon tea is the M-Zs.

Some Presential Notices from our president…
Club dinner is on 20 June at the Senior Citizens rooms. Cost to be confirmed. Sign up on the list on the bus on Saturday.
Midwinter tramp at Matariki Weekend (1012 July) – Whilst thinking it was going to be a 3-day-2 night walk, others have suggested it should be a 4-day-3 night tramp up the Caples and down the Greenstone Valley, so watch this space. Email, ring or text Mike (michael.kotkamp@gmail.com) if keen. If you are interested in carrying a sack of coal, Im sure Mike would appreciate that!
Subs – remember to fill in your membership form (print out from the webpage or pick up one at any harrier outing) and put some money in the harrier account before the end of June to avoid a swim with the fishes! Any non-financial members will stop getting these annoying emails every week after that but if you still want to know what is going on in Alex Harriers, you will be able to see the newsletters on our webpage – https://alexharriers.co.nz.
Photos – remember to send photos from our weekly outings to photos@alexharriers.co.nz

Hopefully we will find some sunshine this week, after Saturday’s taste of winter! 9 W1s walked over from Ophir, starting in sunshine but soon to be reaquainted by low cloud and fog. The W1s cant have been walking fast enough as the hoar frost was forming on their shoes! I’m not sure we’ve ever been to Olrig on a warm day as its always been cold out there!
7 bikers left Alex mid-morning, cycling out to Olrig and up the track – they were lucky enough to find sun for their lunch spot and then a hot coffee stop in Omakau before heading along the railtrail back to Olrig. Sadly the sun stopped following them going down Tiger Hill.
The low cloud followed the W2s and W3s for the whole outing. The 8 W2s went along the rail trail to the bridge and met up with the W1s to walk back along the track with them, whilst the 4 W3s did an out and back along the rail trail. Everyone was back early because we all started early this year!

Hope to see you Saturday along with the big yellow thing that produces vitamin D!
Gary

Hi EveryoneHopefully some of you have been travelling around the district to get some vitamin D this week!
